Math Day at the Capitol

The Georgia Council of Teachers of Mathematics (GCTM) hosted the first-ever "Math Day at the Capitol" on March 6th, 2014. The event was organized to promote the importance of mathematics education in Georgia and to highlight the connection between mathematically literate citizens and economic development.

During the event, GCTM hosted a breakfast for the state legislators in the State Capitol Building; GCTM award winners and student mathletes from the Georgia American Region Mathematics League (ARML) team were recognized; and a formal resolution was made in the Senate. (see pics...)

Georgia Withdraws From PARCC

GMC 2013 at Rock Eagle

The 54th Annual Georgia Mathematics Conference was held October 16-18, 2013 at the Rock Eagle 4-H Center. This year, the focus of the conference was on equipping teachers with resources to develop lifelong learners in their classrooms, especially in consideration of all the transitions that are currently taking place in mathematics education (Common Core, Standards for Mathematical Practice, Teacher Keys, and much more!).
